A series of educational videos
As part of the ManUp4Her project, Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. produced a comprehensive series of short educational videos to promote gender equality and empower viewers to take action against gender-based violence (GBV). The series addresses GBV in three key environments:
- the workplace,
- the home,
- and public spaces.
For each environment, one video focuses on recognizing GBV, while another demonstrates practical strategies to prevent it and safely intervene.
Each video presents realistic scenarios of GBV and then shows alternative ways to act in those situations. To support learning, the films use informational overlays and text boxes that provide context, explain key concepts, and help viewers better understand the dynamics of GBV. This approach ensures that audiences not only recognize harmful behaviors but also learn concrete steps they can take to respond safely and effectively.
The series is created using Cynthia Brame’s evidence-based video learning principles, which enhance engagement, comprehension, and retention. Developed collaboratively by the project consortium, the videos are designed to serve educators, trainers, and organizations committed to preventing GBV. All films are freely available, providing accessible tools to raise awareness, educate communities, and encourage active bystander intervention in the fight against gender-based violence.
